Who we are

Touchline Atlas is an independent website that publishes free football forecasts. It is operated by The Touchline Atlas, an independent publisher, which is responsible for your personal data (the “controller”). Contact us about your data at [email protected] or through the contact form.

What we collect and why

Server logs

Like any website, our server records each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser’s user-agent string and the referring page. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, for example to block abusive traffic and find errors. We do not use them to build profiles or to identify individual readers.

Contact form

When you send a message we store what you enter: the topic, your message, any page or source links and, if you choose to give it, your email address. We use it only to handle your request. Email is optional; leave it out if you don’t need a reply.

Newsletter

The weekly newsletter is not open yet. When it opens, signing up will need your email address and a confirmation click (double opt-in). We will name the email service here and you will be able to unsubscribe from any email in one click.

Preferences on your device

If you switch the time display between your local time and UTC, your browser remembers the choice in local storage on your device. It also remembers your answer to the cookie notice. Neither is ever sent to us. See Cookies and local storage for details and to clear them.

Visitor statistics

If you accept analytics cookies in the notice, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. Google receives the pages you view, the page you came from, your device and browser type, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and a random ID stored in a cookie. Google Analytics does not store your IP address. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we do not combine this data with anything else.

If you reject or ignore the notice, the script does not load and Google receives nothing from this site. You can change your answer at any time on Cookies and local storage.

What we don’t collect

• No reader accounts, passwords or payment details: the site is free and has no sign-up.
• No advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. No analytics cookies unless you accept them.
• No fonts, scripts or images loaded from third-party servers on public pages, apart from the Google Analytics script if you accept it.
• Nothing is shared with or sold to bookmakers, advertisers or data brokers.

Legal bases (UK and EU GDPR)

• Server logs: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
• Contact messages: our legitimate interest in answering you and correcting our data.
• Visitor statistics (Google Analytics): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time on the Cookies page.
• Newsletter (when it opens): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run the site for us: the hosting provider and, if used, a content delivery and security service and an email delivery service; and, only if you accept analytics, Google, which provides Google Analytics. They process data on our instructions and under a data processing agreement. We list them here by type; if you want to know which providers process your data, ask us and we will tell you. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Server logs: up to 30 days, longer only while we investigate a specific security problem.
• Contact messages: up to 12 months, then deleted. Corrections we make to the data are logged without your personal details.
• Visitor statistics: up to 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted. The cookies expire after 2 years or as soon as you reject analytics.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. Use the contact form and tell us what you need; we may ask for something that helps confirm the request is yours. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You have the right to know what we hold and to ask us to delete it, using the same form.

International transfers

Some providers, such as the content delivery and security service and Google, process data in many countries, including outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on an adequacy decision or on the standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms.

Children

The site is not aimed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, administrator access is limited and protected by strong passwords, and only the people who run the site can read contact messages.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. Significant changes, such as a new provider or a new kind of data, will also be noted at the top of this page.
